So true! You see a new book by W. S. Merwin and the back cover is an author photograph. Another angle: "Needs no introduction" is always followed by an introduction because the person being introduced lacks the reputation that would render the introduction irrelevant. A person who, in fact, needs no introduction does not need to be introduced: he or she simply appears, and the applause erupts....
