Amen! I once took a summer off to write. Worse summer of my life! Better to lean into the wind of dailiness: it summons up strengths one would not otherwise need.

Nothing is better for a creative blockage than chopping wood. It even works if you're not a poet but a wood-chopper taking time off from his work to be a nuisance.
