it hovers forever there

Time seen through the image is time lost from view. Being and time are quite different. The image shimmers eternal, when it has outstripped being and time.

—RenĂ© Char, “Leaves of Hypnos,” Furor and Mystery & Other Writings (Black Widow Press, 2010), translated by May Ann Caws and Nancy Cline.

Excellent quote. Black Widow is an essential press. If you haven't seen their edition of Guillevic's Art Poetique, pick it up when you have a chance. It's full of aphoristic brilliance. A very small sampling here: http://www.jhwriter.com/?p=3822

I only was introduced to Black Widow at at reading by Mary Ann Caws this past November in CT. I don't know why I missed it.
Thanks for the tip about the Guillevic.
