I realized after composing that one I was perhaps too close to Carl Sandburg's assertion that 'poetry is the synthesis of hyacinths and biscuits'.

Speaking of poetry and pottery, M.C. Richards wrote a good book on that subject called 'Centering in pottery, poetry and the person'.
